We begin with the pick-up from your hotel to take you on a 2-hour trip by tourist transportation to the Train Station in Ollantaytambo, then we will board an Expedition or Voyager Tourist Train, after approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. You will reach kilometer 104 from where the walk begins. As soon as we reach this point, we will cross a bridge to the registration point and show your passports, then we will start walking towards the other side of the Vilcanota River, the trail heads to the right towards the Chachabamba ruins. See the stone altar in the sun and the mountains a sacred rock for the locals. After a visit to Chachabamba, we will continue the trail south and begin climbing the mountain, before entering the cloud forest. After walking in the sun for about three hours, the trail descends into a shady forest. This is where hikers can enjoy a beautiful waterfall. After leaving the waterfall and the forest, hikers will reach the lower part of the incredible Wiñaywayna ruins. After lunch in Wiñaywayna we continued through a cloud forest full of bromeliads, orchids and ferns. You will walk the last part of the original trail with incredible stone steps and tambo “resting places” and climb the 60 steps before reaching the Inti Punku or “Sun Gate”. From this point you can contemplate and observe this wonderful place, the last 45 minutes to be in front of this wonder. Spend little time on photographs and views, hopefully you will see a magnificent one. Very early in the morning we will take the first bus at approximately 05.20 a.m. and we will arrive at the door of the ruins before 06.00 a.m. when the park is open. This time it is not yet so crowded so we take advantage of the tranquility of this sacred site. Our guided tour of Machupicchu will begin. This enigmatic city is explored for approximately 2 hours and its mysteries and archaeological information will be explained by your expert guide (you usually have approximately 6 hours of additional free time, but it depends on train schedules. Once our tour in Machupicchu is over, We will go down to Aguas Calientes, you will have a brief meeting with your guide, you will have free time in Aguas Calientes, it is very important to be 30 minutes before the departure of your train. Once you take your train to Ollantaytambo, our driver will be waiting in Ollantaytambo to Make your transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
